Changing room investigation

Being watched, does not always equate with being kept safe. Who watches the watchers ?

"A police investigation has been launched after a hidden camera was found in a changing room at an Edinburgh sports centre."

"The camera was revealed when a fourth year pupil from James Gillespie High School threw his shoe and dislodged a ceiling panel."

"The changing rooms are used by male and females at different times."

"The incident happened at about 15:30 on Wednesday."

"It is understood the boys were at the sports centre for a PE class."

"Meadowbank Sports Centre is run by city council arms-length company, Edinburgh Leisure."

"An Edinburgh Leisure spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland is investigating an incident which occurred on Wednesday and all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure an isolated incident."

"I am unable to discuss any of the specifics at this time while a Police Scotland investigation is underway."

It is ironic that in 2012:  "A total of 825 cameras were located in the toilets or changing rooms of 207 schools across England, Scotland and Wales, according to data provided by more than 2,000 schools."

  1. Update:

Police Scotland are satisfied no crime was committed. Camera was there to catch a thief and was left by mistake.
